A
couple of notes …
The
visual outside (what you see) of a totally enclosed sim is of no consequence at
all ,, it can be just a box or anything ,, its inside what counts.
The
inside of mine is really only getting started ,, I have for these pictures, got
the panel that I am use in the house fitted in the sim to test my software.
This
panel is self contained ,, only 1 USB cable and 1 power cable and it is clamped
in there with using the yoke clamps. This panel makes the keyboard redundant
when flying.
The
box itself will be “hacked” to suit the end cockpit, so I never really put much
effort into making it “real”.
The
eagled eyed simmers will spot another wiper motor at the back ,, this was for a
“rest” for getting in and out of the sim ,, the idea was to take shock load off
the gearbox while getting in and out of
the BACK of it … As it turned out, I made some side entry doors and it was not
required.
The
screen is a 32 LCD and I love the
“Goose” so actually having the instruments still on the screen not only makes
it easy to build but also adds to the visual environment while you are flying.
All
the motion platform power supplies, electronics, everything, is in the wee consol between the seats and
can be removed for working on. (Everything just plugs into it. … Hint,,, I used
car trailer sockets/plugs for the motor cables.
The
car batteries show in one picture are NOT is use. (Just stored there and they
help with weight balance if there are
no Co-pilot)
